How This Service Works
An HHA may assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, positioning, routine observations, and other authorized tasks that support the patient’s health and daily functioning. Services should be based on the established plan and remain within the aide’s training and permitted scope.
Home Health Aides are expected to communicate concerns to the supervising clinician, follow infection-prevention practices, observe for changes that may affect care, and document completed tasks and observations according to agency procedures.
HHA services work best when the aide, nurse, patient, family, and other authorized care team members communicate clearly about routines, changes, and goals.
